Website Help Page

We appreciate that some of the terminology and functions of our website and our Medical Records provider (TPP/Systmone) can be a bit confusing so we have created this help page to explain what each function does.

NHS app: The NHS App gives you a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services including requesting your repeat prescriptions. Download the NHS App on your smartphone or tablet via the Google play or App store. You can also access the same services in a web browser by logging in through the NHS website. To read more click here: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/about-the-nhs-app/

TPP (The Phoenix Partnership): TPP is the software company that created and manages our electronic patient records system called “SystmOne”.

SystmOne: SystmOne is the electronic patient records system that we use. All of the consultations that you have with our clinicians are stored in SystmOne. All practices in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes use this software.

SystmOnline: SystmOnline has been around for several years and many of our patients use it to request their repeat medications. It’s very easy to use once you’ve spoken to our reception team about creating an account. This is the preferred way for you to request your routine repeat medications although you can also use the NHS app if you find that easier to use.

SystmConnect: This is our online consultation platform that launched in April 2024 and replaced eConsult. This is our preferred method for patients to contact us. We reserve appointments each day specifically for online consultation submissions. Once you have completed a SystmConnect submission, one of our patient support team will contact you by telephone, SMS or email with a response. To make it even easier, they will often respond with a booking link via SMS/email for you to book your appointment directly with the appropriate clinician so that you are able to book at a time that is convenient to you.

With SystmConnect you can:

  • Request an appointment.
  • Request a new medication or book a medication review. (It is not for requesting routine repeat medication though)
  • Request routine contraception (please call our reception team directly or visit a local pharmacy if you require emergency contraception/the morning after pill)
  • Blood Pressure Reviews.
  • Not fit to work notes.
  • Test result requests.
  • Blood test form requests

Airmid: Airmid is an app produced by TPP that mirrors a lot of the functionality of the NHS app, SystmOnline and SystmConnect. As a consequence we have not advocated it’s use as it’s better to use one of the other three methods.
